Lenten Season of Prayer

Lenten Season of Prayer

Prayer is an important part of Lent as it is our source of communication to God. As we meditate on the sacrifice of Jesus, let us verbalize our faith through prayer. As challenged by Diana Sanford let us take time every Wednesday at 1:00 PM to offer prayers to God as the Faith Family.

Pastor Jaci reminded us in today’s sermon that “Prayers offered in faith will restore them from sickness and bring them to health. The Lord will lift them up from the floor of despair; and if the sickness is due to sin, then God will forgive their sins. So own up to your sins to one another and pray for one another. In the end, you may be healed. Your prayers are powerful when they are rooted in a righteous life.” James 5:15-16

You may already have a focus for your Lenten Prayers but if you are needing some direction here are some topics and scriptures to pray:

Pray for Guidance Jeremiah 42:3
Pray for Forgiveness 1 John 1:19
Pray for Faith Mark 11: 24
Pray for Protection Deuteronomy 31:6
Pray for Love   1Corinthians 13: 4-7
Pray for Others 1 Timothy 2:1-5

Faith Wesleyan will be open for prayers at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays during Lent. If you find that you cannot make it into the church take a moment where you are for prayer.

“ Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed by what we have done, and b what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart: we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sale of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in Your will, and walk-in Your ways, to the glory of Your Name, Amen. “
